Starling Murmurations Roost Map
DUE TO THE NATIONAL LOCKDOWN, WE HAVE TAKEN THE DECISION NOT TO UPDATE THE MAP FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
This seemed the right thing to do in the current pandemic to hopefully sway people from travelling too far just to see the Starlings.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO VISIT LOCATIONS TO WATCH STARLINGS, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SOME PLACES GET EXTREMELY BUSY. IF PARKING IS DIFFICULT, PLEASE PARK IN A RESPECTABLE MANNER AND DO NOT BLOCK ACCESS TO THE RESIDENTS PROPERTIES ETC OR RETURN ANOTHER TIME,
THANK YOU
THANK YOU
The RED OR POINTED markers show Starling roost sites reported to us throughout each winter.
The WHITE CIRCLE markers show previous years roost sites.
ALL MARKERS ARE CHANGED TO THE WHITE CIRCLE AT THE BEGINNING OF APRIL AND ARE CHANGED TO THE RED MARKER AS WE GET REPORTS OF ROOST LOCATIONS, USUALLY THE FIRST WEEK OF OCTOBER. THE MAP IS CLEARED EVERY SPRING.
This doesn't mean that the locations with the remaining white markers do not have Starlings, but just that they haven't been reported to us.
